Kuwaiti Emir Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah on Saturday received a phone call from Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon.
During the call, the UN chief voiced condolences over the victims of a terrorist suicide blast that targeted a mosque in Kuwait on Friday and left 27 people dead and 227 others wounded.
Ban said the UN backs Kuwait and its people in their efforts to combat terrorism.
He also offered sincere condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.
