UN secretary-general’s envoy to Yemen ,Jamal Benomar, has confirmed that there is a consensus in the UN Security Council (UNSC) that there is a large progress in the political process in Yemen. He pointed out that the Council dealt ,during its last session, with many challenges faced by Yemen in the political ,security, economic and humanitarian aspects. Upon his arrival in Sana’a on Saturday ,within his mission to follow up the efforts made by the UN to support the political process in Yemen, Benomar told Yemen news agency SABA that during his visit he will prepare his report on the political process in Yemen to submit it to the UNSC in the coming weeks, in addition the preparation for the meeting of the Friends of Yemen to be held in New York on the sidelines of the session of the United Nations General Assembly in September. Benomar also noted that he will meet with the presidency, working groups and the conciliation committee of the National Dialogue Conference to discuss the UN support to the conference efforts to come up with outputs serving the political process in Yemen.
