The situation in the Sahel region and its vicinity makes it pressing more than ever to reach a settlement for the Western Sahara dispute, U.N. Secretary General’s Personal Envoy for Western Sahara Christopher Ross said. Speaking during a visit to Rabat, Ross said his regional tour is dedicated to finding a solution for the issue in line with Security Council resolutions, noting that he held talks with Moroccan prime minister, foreign minister and parliament speakers on the best way to push negotiations forward. Ross is due to submit a report on his North Africa tour to the Security Council on April 22.
