Geneva - Arab Today
The United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG) celebrates today the annual International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.
The celebration aims to grab the attention of the international community on the Palestinian cause.
The celebration is attending by the ambassadors accredited to the UN in Geneva along with several non-governmental organizations and civil societies which are concerned with the Palestinian cause.
The International Day of Solidarity has provided an opportunity for the international community to focus its attention on the fact that the question of Palestine remained unresolved.
It also serves to remind the world that the Palestinian people are yet to attain their inalienable rights as defined by the General Assembly, namely, the right to self-determination without external interference, the right to national independence and sovereignty, and the right to return to their homes and property from which they had been displaced.
