UN Resident Representative in Syria Yacoub El-Hillo affirmed on Thursday UN's keenness to continue efforts in implementing its humanitarian mission in the old city of Homs, central Syria.In a statement to SANA, El-Hillo expressed his gratitude and appreciation to all efforts exerted by bodies at Homs Governorate in safely evacuating residents after facing difficult circumstances, asserting at the same time keenness to continue exerting further efforts to facilitate the mission of securing the departure of civilians from the city and delivering aid to those who wish to stay inside the old city.Governor of Homs Talal Al-Barazi has reached an agreement today with El-Hillo that gives the innocent civilians besieged in the neighborhoods of the old city of Homs, including children, women, the injured and elderly people, the chance to leave the city as soon as necessary arrangements are secured, added SANA. According to the agreement, the Syrian authorities will also provide the necessary humanitarian aid of shelter, food, and medical treatment to the innocent civilians willing to leave the old city.
