Geneva - KUNA
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Antonio Guterres expressed his appreciation to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah for all his humanitarians efforts and, in particularly, for hosting the third donors' conference for Syrian refugees.
Last month, Kuwait announced hosting the third donors' conference for Syrian refugees in late March, 2015.
Guterres made this remark, on Wednesday, during his meeting with Kuwait's Permanent Mission to the United Nations Ambassador Jamal Al-Ghunaim.
"Kuwait has become a humanitarian role-model for its quick respond and ongoing support," Guterres said.
He pointed out that many international aid organizations are looking forward to take parting in the upcoming conference.
On his part, Al-Ghunaim said that Kuwait is not only supporting Syrian refugees but it also extends a helping hand to other unfortunate countries.
He added that the success of the previous donors' conferences will be an incentive for many donors to participate in the upcoming one.
