US Ambassador in Cairo Stephen Beecroft on Tuesday hailed efforts exerted by Egypt's Interior Ministry to confront terrorism and support stability.

During a meeting with Interior Minister Magdy Abdel Ghaffar at the ministry's HQ, the ambassador confirmed the importance of Egypt and its vital role in the Middle East, which is witnessing many disorders regional tensions.

The United States is ready to cooperate with the Egyptian Interior Ministry to counter terrorist and developed criminal phenomena, the ambassador added.

For his part, the minister reviewed the ministry's efforts to arrest terrorist cells involved in sabotage acts.

The minister stressed that the state would not allow the terrorist entities to disrupt the development process.
