The US Embassy in Beirut condemned the suicide bombing attack that targeted a gas station the Lebanese city of Hermel and claimed the lives of four people."The American Embassy condemns tonight's bombing in Hermel and extends its condolences to the victims and their families," the Embassy said in a press statement issued late Saturday."We regret that the people of Hermel have once again been subjected to an act of reprehensible terrorism." At least four people were killed and 48 were wounded when a suicide bomber blew up his car in a gas station near the entrance of the eastern city of Hermel.The US Embassy urged all Lebanese to unit and practice self-restraint to put an end to the vicious cycle of violence in their country."We urge all parties to exercise restraint and refrain from contributing to the cycle of violence. We renew our call for the full implementation of the Baabda Declaration, UN Security Council resolutions 1559 and 1701, and the Taif Agreement," reads the statement.The US also expressed all solidarity and support to the State of Lebanon in its fight against terrorism."We reaffirm our support for the Lebanese Armed Forces and the Internal Security Forces in their role in maintaining Lebanon's security and call for the perpetrators of this attack to be brought to justice."
