The US Embassy in Cairo strongly condemned Saturday the terrorist attack close to the Italian consulate in downtown Cairo.

In a press statement, the embassy offered condolences to the families of the victims and hoped speedy recovery for the injured.

It also stressed support to Egypt in its war against terrorism.
