The US Embassy in Cairo condemned in the strongest terms the heinous terrorist attack that resulted in the death of Prosecutor General Hesham Barakat and injured several others.

The Embassy extended its deepest condolences to Barakat’s family and to all others affected by the attack.

The US steadfastly stands with Egypt in the fight against terrorism, the US Embassy said in a press release.
