Two US military cargo planes evacuated on Sunday US nationals from the Yemeni city of Aden after news that Houthis are advancing toward the southern city.
The two planes took off at dawn of Sunday from Aden airport with scores of American nationals on board, Al Yemen Al Youm newspaper, out Monday, reported quoting airport sources.
They were airlifted to a US military frigate stationed at Bab el Mandeb.
Also, all UN staffers in Aden were evacuated on board a plane of Petromasila Company.
Yemen is about to witness major clashes as Houthis loyal to former president Ali Abdullah Saleh are close on Aden where incumbent president Abd Rabbu Mansur Hadi and his supporters are taking refuge since the Shiite rebels took control of Sanaa.
