The U.S. State Department said Wednesday that it is working with Japanese authorities to ensure the safety of U.S. diplomatic personnel following reports of threats against the U.S. ambassador, Caroline Kennedy.
In response to questions about the threats to Ms. Kennedy, State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf said "We take any threats to U.S. diplomats seriously. We take every step possible to protect our personnel. We are working with the Japanese government to ensure the necessary measures are in place.”
She said officials wouldn’t comment on the details of the threats.
