A joint US-Kurdish force raided three Daesh terrorist group's bases near Hawija in western Kirkuk on Friday night.

The force was able to arrest a number of Daesh militants, said Kirkuk MP Khaled al Mafriji on Saturday.

The force targeted the Daesh police HQ and two other positions in al Khan and Shariaa villages, Mafriji added.

Such raids are meant to pave the way for an operation to liberate the area near Hawija from Daesh, the MP said.

He would not talk about casualties on both sides.
