US-led airstrikes

The US-led coalition has launched 24 airstrikes on Daesh targets in Syria and Iraq during the past 24 hours, the US Defense Department said on Friday.

According to Combined Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve officials, US and coalition military forces have continued to attack Daesh terrorists in Syria and Iraq.

"Officials reported details of the latest strikes, which took place between 8 a.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday, local time, noting that assessments of results are based on initial reports," the ministry said.

In Syria 11 airstrikes were carried out near four areas: Near Ar Raqqah, one airstrike struck a Daesh tactical unit, destroying two Daesh vehicles.

Near Al Hasakah, one airstrike struck a Daesh weapons manufacturing building.

Near Deir Az-Zour, four airstrikes struck three Daesh crude oil collection points.

Near Tal Abyad, five airstrikes struck four Daesh tactical units, destroying two Daesh fighting positions, a Daesh vehicle, heavy machine gun and mortar system.

In Iraq, 13 airstrikes were carried out near six areas: Near Al Huwayjah, two airstrikes struck land features denying Daesh a tactical advantage, destroying a Daesh weapons cache.
