The US and its allies have conducted 23 airstrikes against Daesh targets in Iraq and nine in Syria, the joint task force overseeing the operations said Tuesday.

In Iraq, the international coalition jets targeted Daesh sites near al Qaim, Bayji, Habbaniyah, Haditha, Makhmur, Mosul, Ramadi, Sinjar and Tal Afar, the joint task force said in a statement.

In Syria, airstrikes targeted Daesh sites near Hassakeh and Aleppo, it added.
