US Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor Michael H. Posner will travel to Bahrain, Egypt, and Tunisia on December 8-14, the US State Department said in a statement Saturday night. In Bahrain, he will participate in the Manama Dialogue with US Deputy Secretary of State William Burns and participate in meetings with Bahraini government officials and members of civil society. In Egypt, he will discuss the ongoing democratic transition process and human rights issues with government officials, political party representatives, civil society activists, and interfaith groups. In Tunisia, he will support Secretary Clintons participation in the Forum for the Future and meet with civil society groups participating in that event.
