The US has recognized that Syrian President Bashar al Assad is a main factor in solving the crisis there, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov announced on Friday.

Speaking to reporters, Bogdanov said that the US officials realize that there is no alternative but to depend on the Syrian president and his government to settle the crisis.

In case the Syrian regime was toppled, the whole Syrian territories would be under the control of Daesh militants, he added.
