The Vatican on Tuesday praised Cairo on its efforts to curb the danger of terrorism and to help hundreds of thousands of immigrants.
The remarks were made by Cardinal Antonio Maria Veglio, President of Pontifical Council for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant People.
During a meeting with Egypt's Ambassador to the Holy See Hatem Seif el Nasr, the Cardinal highlighted importance of concerted efforts to combat extremism and terrorism.
The meeting took up means to boost relations and discuss status of immigrants in the region.
