The Vatican City

Palestine's Ambassador to the Holy See Issa Kassissieh hailed as historic an agreement signed by the Vatican and Palestine.

The treaty, which made official the Vatican's de facto recognition of Palestine since 2012, guarantees both sides' vision on peace and justice in the region, Kassissieh said.

The Vatican City has recognized the freedom of religion in the State of Palestine and the rights of its people to live with dignity in their independent lands, he said.
