Al-Wafd's leader el-Sayyed el-Badawi said Friday liberal and civil powers decided not to leave Cairo's Tahri Square until the constitutional declaration issued Thursday by Egypt's President Mohamad Morsi revoked. "Today is a historical day that looks like the day of Jan. 25, 2011....the same faces, the same rallies...they are the real Egyptian people," Badawi told protesters in the iconic square. He strongly slammed the constitution declaration, saying it is a coup against legitimacy. "I will tell those who staged this coup that we will not leave here until the declaration aborted," Badawi said. On Thursday, Morsi issued decisions to appoint Counselor Talaat Ibrahim as public prosecutor for a four-year term and hold retrials into crimes pertaining to killing and injuring protesters. After the announcement, Egyptian protesters began gathering in Tahrir Square to protest against the declaration.
