President Abdo Rabbo Mansour Hadi of Yemen has received U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Barbara Leaf, discussing bilateral relations and other regional and international issues of common interest. They also reviewed the case of Yemenis detained in Guantanamo and ways of returning them to their home nation, rehabilitating and reintegrating them into the community. According to the SABA News Agency, Hadi said that he appreciated the U.S. support for Yemen's transition under the GCC-mediated initiative, its implementation mechanism, and the two UN Resolutions, No. 2014 and 2051. He commended the efforts of the Group of Ten states sponsoring the GCC-brokered initiative, pointing out that security in Yemen concerns many regional and international states. The president cited that the National Dialogue Conference (NDC) was successfully concluded, praising the consensus and cooperation of Yemen's different parties. The U.S. official commended the successful National Dialogue Conference (NDC), affirming that the United States will continue its support to Yemen in the areas of development, security, counter-terrorism and the outcomes of the NDC.
