Chief of General Staff, Maj. Gen. Ahmed al-Ashwal met on Tuesday in Washington Gen. Martin Dempsey, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the first military adviser to President Barack Obama. The meeting dealt with the aspects relating to strengthening the military relations between the two friendly armies and the cooperation aspects in the defense and security areas of common concern. Yemeni- American talks session was held yesterday morning at the Pentagon. The talks touched upon a number of issues of common interest, forefront of which were the fight against terrorism and the cooperation protocols in the field of training and expertise exchanging. During the talks, the U.S. officials reviewed the technical military assistance provided to our country in the field of restructuring the Interior Minister as well as the results of the visit of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) team to Yemen.
