Riyadh - Arab Today
Yemeni Foreign Minister Riad Yassin accused the Iranian Embassy in Yemen of offering financial support and weapons to the Houthis.
In statements to Al Arabiya Al Hadath on Monday, Yassin pointed out to the presence of Houthi operations room inside the Iranian Embassy in Yemen.
Tehran owns developed capabilities in terms of communications, he added.
Yemen has been rocked by months of fighting between the Houthis and loyalists of Yemeni President Abdrabu Mansur Hadi, supported by the Arab coalition, leaving thousands dead and about 21 million people in need of urgent aid.
The Houthis began their advance last September, sweeping into the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, and taking over government ministries and other areas.
They held top officials, including Hadi, under house arrest until Hadi fled, first to the southern port city of Aden, then to Saudi Arabia.
