The Yemeni government said its participation in the Geneva peace talks on Yemen, to be held on Sunday, was upon an invitation from United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.

The talks are mainly aimed at carrying out UN Security Council Resolution 2216 that calls on Houthi militias to withdraw immediately and fully from all cities and hand over weapons to the legitimate authorities, the Yemeni News Agency quoted the government as saying.
