Prime Minister Mohammed Salem Basindwa met here on Monday with UN Secretary-General Envoy for Humanitarian Affairs Abdullah al-Maatouq. During the meeting, Basindwa and Maatouq reviewed the future cooperation between Yemen and the UN in the humanitarian areas and the challenges Yemen faces in the light of the mounting number of the African refugees and Internally Displaced People (IDPs). They underlined the necessity of the UN to continue its role to mobilize the international support to cover the needs to carry out the humanitarian response plane 2013 for Yemen and the medical needs as well. The Prime Minister valued highly the role the UN plays to support the government\'s efforts to tackle the repercussions of the last two years events, particularly in humanitarian areas. He hoped that the visit would help the UN envoy get closely acquainted with the humanitarian and medical needs in Yemen and to provide the possible aid. Al-Maatouq reiterated confirmation of the UN\'s support to Yemen and its great interest in succeeding the under way transitional stage. He stressed the UN keenness to provide all required assistances to help Yemen addresses the humanitarian situation.
