Russian Ambassador in Lebanon Alexander Zasypkin underlined that European countries' endeavors to arm "the armed opposition" in Syria will complicate the efforts for realizing a political solution to the crisis and weaken the opportunities of dialogue. "Arming the opposition by some EU countries would complicate the problem as there is an understanding between Russian and the US to find a political settlement.. so the French-British steps are illogical," Zasypkin told Al-Alam TV in an interview. He called for encouraging all parties to engage in dialogue and intensify the efforts to reach a political solution to the crisis.
