A person died Tuesday when fire broke out at a residential building in Mansoura district in Minya governorate.

The blaze was contained by civil defense forces before being extended to adjacent buildings.

The cause of the fire was a butane gas leak, according to some residents of the district. 

The body was moved to Minya Public Hospital and a report on the incident was filed.

Experts of the criminal investigation department are stepping up their efforts to identify the reason behind the blaze.
