The death toll among Egyptian pilgrims in the Holy Lands rose to 16, head of the Egyptian Hajj mission Sayed Maher said on Sunday.

Ahmed Mahdy, 69, died of natural causes, Maher said.

He was buried in Mecca after taking the permission of his family, he added.
