A security man was killed and 16 citizens were injured when a bomb went off in the textile town of Mahala yesterday, said the Health Ministry.
Fifteen of the injured were rushed to Mahala general hospital and one was moved to Tanta university hospital.
Five of the cases have already been discharged from hospital.
Four are in critical condition.
