One person was killed and 16 others, mostly students, were wounded when a microbus plunged into a canal in Sohag on Sunday.
Police said the speedy driver lost control over the steering wheel.
The dead has not yet been identified.
The wounded sustained fractures and bruises and were ambulanced to Sohag University Hospital.
