One person was killed as he was trying to sneak into Lebanon through the border with Syria, the Lebanese army said in a statement Friday.
The statement said troops spotted a group of seven people who were trying to infiltrate from the Syrian side.
The troops fired warning shots, but the seven paid no heed to calls to stop.
The army said it had to open fire at them, killing one, the statement said.
