A dangerous terrorist was killed and 297 others were arrested in North Sinai during a three-day security clampdown by the army.
The campaign was carried out from December 24 to 26, army spokesman Mohamed Samir said.
The terrorist was killed after a fire exchange with the forces during a raid of terror hotspots in the governorate, Samir said.
Also, 30 motorcycles and 10 cars used by terrorists in attacks against the police and army were destroyed by the army, he added.
Additionally, 199 hideouts and HQs of armed elements were destroyed along with 14 openings of smuggling tunnels and two storehouses of petroleum materials, he said.
Four bombs were dismantled and two others detonated by the army, he said.
Amounts of drugs and firearms were seized as well, he added.
