At least 100 Syrian army soldiers and opposition gunmen were killed in fierce fighting that has been going on for almost a week in Daraa, activists said.
The Syrian army has launched an assault on gunmen in Daraa to repel their incursion towards the capital, they said.
At least 50 fighters from the opposition were killed in the fighting.
