As many as 110 Tunisian security personnel were sacked over suspicion of links to terror groups, Tunisian Interior Ministry spokesman Walid Louguini said on Thursday.

The 110 security men were fired after receiving reports on their links to terror groups, he added.

The process of enlisting police personnel in the Tunisian security sector following the Tunisian revolution in 2011 wasn't subject to applicable security standards, a senior security official said.

Some of the suspended policemen are accused of leaking information on sites of security patrols to terrorists in return for a bribe, he added.
