12 officials of education ministry in custody pending investigation

The Public Prosecution on Monday ordered 12 officials of different sectors of the Education Ministry into custody for 15 days pending investigation.

The officials were arrested over leaking exams of the national secondary certificate on many of social media websites.

High-school exams began on Saturday for the students following the old system, and Sunday for those in the new system.

About 563,000 students around the country are performing the final exams of their pre-university education over the next four weeks.
