suspects under violence charges

Egypt's Assistant Prosecutor General Counselor Ali Omran decided on Wednesday to release 125 suspects who were under charges of violence and illegal protest, official news agency MENA reported.

Most of the suspects released are students or suffer health problems.

The decision was taken "out of the prosecution's keenness" to avoid harming the suspects, according to the official Nile TV.

Since the ouster of former Islamist president Mohamed Morsi in 2013 in response to mass protests against his rule, hundreds of his Brotherhood loyalists have been facing trials over violence and murder.
