The 143rd session of the Arab League Council at the delegates' level kicked off Saturday under Jordan's chairmanship.
A session of the AL Council will be held on Monday and Tuesday at the level of foreign ministers under Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Nasser Judeh.
The new session of the AL council includes 28 items, said AL Deputy Secretary General Ahmed Ben Heli.
Discussions at the ministerial level of the upcoming Arab summit will focus on ways of unifying Arab efforts toward confronting threats to Arab national security, he added.
The session will look at the agenda of the upcoming Arab summit, to be hosted and chaired by Egypt by the end of March.
It will focus also on the situation in Syria, Libya, Yemen, terrorism and Arab national security, he said, adding that the Egyptian initiative to form a joint Arab military force will be on the top of the Arab summit's agenda.
