Blizzard in Jordan

Civil defence rescue teams and medics had dealt with 1,489 different weather-related accidents during the blizzard that hit the Kingdom over the past three days, the Civil Defense Department (CDD) said Saturday.
The emergency cases ranged from helping stranded motorists to transporting patients with chronic diseases and pregnant women to hospitals, it added.
It said CDD rescue personnel had helped drivers whose vehicles were stuck in the snow or flood waters or had skidded off roads, plus transporting to hospitals 250 kidney patients for dialysis and 165 birth cases.
