Fifteen people were killed, including nine army personnel and six African workers, in an armed attack on Sokna city, 600 kilometers south of Tripoli.
Most of the military casualties were from the infantry battalion 168, an army spokesman said Friday.
The deaths occurred after a number of masked men opened fire at the troops.
