Amman - Petra
Jordanian Border Guards received in the last two days some 151 Syrian refugees as civilians continued to flee the conflict in their country, the Jordan Armed Forces said on Saturday.
It said that the refugees, mainly women, children and elderly people, were provided with urgent humanitarian aid before being transferred to refugee camps in the Kingdom.
Jordan currently hosts about 1.5 million Syrians and its borders remain open to refugees despite the heavy strain the ongoing influx had placed on its resources, services and infrastructure.
