Rafah terminal

About 1,569 people crossed the Rafah border terminal with the Gaza Strip which remained open on both sides Wednesday for the third day in a row to allow stranded Palestinians and aid supplies into the coastal enclave.

The Egyptian authorities had agreed to re-open the crossing for four days, starting Monday, an official source at the Rafah crossing said.

As many as 3,639 persons crossed the terminal over the past two days, the source added.

As many as 1,568 tons of cement and 515 tons of pebbles were allowed into the enclave, according to the source.

The Rafah terminal has been closed following the Karm el Qawadis terrorist attack on October 24, 2014.
