Sixteen middle-ranking leaders of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood (MB) were nabbed nationwide over the past 24 hours.
The MB leaders were arrested over charges of inciting violence, assaulting public and private facilities and taking part in hostilities.
In a related context, the security bodies arrested seven members of operations committees affiliated to the MB terrorist organization in a number of governorates.
The seven MB members are accused of attacking police and army personnel as well as vital institutions in governorates of Alexandria and Sharqia.
Legal action was taken and relevant prosecutions were notified.
