As many as 173 candidates have applied for the coming parliamentary elections in Minya governorate after two candidates applied on the fifth day, said a judge who supervises polls in Minya on Saturday.

Meanwhile, 191 candidates have applied in Gharbiya governorate after 12 candidates applied on the fifth day, said another judge who supervises the polls in Gharbiya.

Egypt plans to hold the polls in two phases in October and November.
