Security forces in Assiut arrested 18 persons from four families over their involvement in a blood feud, with 20 automatic rifles and shotguns in their possession.

Officers of the Assiut criminal search department and police unit in El Bedary village, backed with combat groups and armored vehicles from the Central Security Department, carried out the arrests. 

The two feuding parties – two families at each side – used four towers and nine emplacements in fire exchanges against each other.

The forces demolished the towers and emplacements.
