Amman - KUNA
Eighteen of armed Syrian opposition factions has announced the formation of a Syrian revolutionary council, Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said on Sunday.
The move was taken in response to an initiative by a number of Syrian religious scholars, to unify armed opposition factions and brigades acting inside Syria, SOHR said in a statement, noting that the council's formation came following a meeting by commanders of these opposition groups from various Syrian governorates.
The council is formed to be the unified body of the Syrian revolutionary factions, SOHR added.
The council leadership has ordered the formation of military and judiciary offices as well as follow-up committee within a period of 45 days.
