Two workers were arrested in Beheira government over charges of slaughtering donkeys in garbage dump ahead of selling it for shops and restaurants.

The defendants benefited from the rising prices of meat in the market and the advent of Eidul-Adha in their wrongdoing.

Another suspect escaped during the crackdown.

The police seized slaughtered donkey meat, ready to be sold in the markets.

The veterinary medicine department proved the seizures were donkey meat.
