Authorities at Cairo International Airport arrested on Friday two Bahraini nationals who were attempting to smuggle antiquities to Bahrain's capital Manama.
Security services at the airport suspected two Bahraini passengers whose luggage passed through X-ray devices which showed that the bags had strange objects inside, security sources said.
Searching the luggage, a police officer found coins on which pictures of King Farouq and King Fouad appeared as well as documents dated back to 1881.
The two people were arrested and referred to the public prosecution.
