Two conscripts were injured Friday in a drive-by shooting in the Upper Egyptian city of Minya.

The two conscripts suspected a car at a checkpoint on the eastern desert road and tried to stop it before occupants opened fire on them.

The conscripts were carried to hospital for treatment and efforts are underway to arrest the attackers.
