Muslim Brotherhood

Two supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood were sentenced to 15 years in prison over instigating violence in the Upper Egypt governorate of Minya.
They were tried over provoking riots, and blocking railways in Minya's city of Samalut during August 2014 protests marking the first anniversary of forcefully dispersing the pro-deposed president Mohamed Morsi's sit-ins in Rabaa el-Adaweya and Nahda squares.
In December 2013, an Egyptian court labelled the Muslim Brotherhood group a terrorist organization, blaming it for a string of attacks in the country and banning all its activities nationwide.
