Security forces in Sharqiya arrested on Sunday two terrorist cells.
The two cells have been manufacturing explosive devices and Molotov cocktails that they used in sabotaging vital facilities and installations in the 10th of Ramadan and Zagazig cities, according to investigations.
The first cell, comprising five members, was nabbed with chemical materials, electric batteries and explosives in its possession.
The cell members, led by a chemical engineer, admitted that they exploded natural gas pipelines, drinking water supply lines and power transformers as well as setting fire to a raft of public buses.
They were referred to the prosecution that ordered their detention 15 days pending investigations.
The second cell, which groups four members, was arrested while attempting to torch a power transformer.
The four members were rounded up with a number of Molotov cocktails in their possession.
